Wayne Marshall (ethnomusicologist)

Wayne Marshall is an American ethnomusicologist college professor.
His scholarship focuses on the musical and cultural production of the Caribbean and the Americas, and their circulation in the wider world, with particular attention to digital technologies. He is currently writing a book on music, networked media and transnational youth culture. He co-edited and contributed to the book Reggaeton (Duke University Press, 2009) and has published in journals such as Popular Music and Callaloo, while writing for popular outlets including The Wire and the Boston Phoenix. Marshall holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has taught courses at Brandeis, Brown, University of Chicago, and MIT. He is also an active DJ and maintains and runs the blog and website.

Abraham Aaron Rubashkin, or Aaron Rubashkin, an ultra-Orthodox Jew of the Lubavitcher hasidic movement born in the Russian town Nevel in the former Soviet Union, is the owner of a kosher butcher shop in Brooklyn, New York, opened in 1953. He is the head, usually referred to as "patriarch", of the Rubashkin family, dubbed the "kosher meat dynasty" by The New York Times, a tight-knit family well known among orthodox Jews in Brooklyn for its wealth and generosity towards Jewish causes, and past or present owner and president of most of the family′s businesses, many of which have faced legal problems, including Agriprocessors, once the largest kosher slaughterhouse and meat-packaging factory in the United States, that went into bankruptcy after the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) staged a raid of the plant known as "Postville Raid".

Sir Herbert Ashman, 1st Baronet

Sir Herbert Ashman, 1st Baronet (11 June 1854 – 26 September 1914) was the first Lord Mayor of Bristol.
He was born in Yeovil, Somerset, the son of Thomas Nathaniel Ashman and was educated at the Independent College, Taunton.
His father moved the family to Bristol when he was only a few months old, where Herbert joined his father's leather processing business at the age of 15. He later became head of his own company of Herbert Ashman & Co., leather factors, manufacturers and importers, based in Broadmead, Bristol.
He was the Liberal Councillor of St Paul's ward from 1890 to 1900 and elected Mayor of Bristol in 1898 and 1899. On 12 November 1899 he was knighted by Queen Victoria at the Council House and on 15 November 1899 became Bristol's first Lord Mayor when the Queen conferred the honour of a Lord Mayoralty on the city. A special election was held in Georgia's at-large congressional district on March 23, 1801 to fill a vacancy left by the death of James Jones on January 11, 1801, before the start of the 7th Congress. His death had also left a vacancy in the 6th Congress, which went unfilled.

Robert M. Hall

Robert M. "Bob" Hall (27 September 1909–21 December 1998) was an American media executive, founder of Publishers-Hall Syndicate and later Hall Communications.
Born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, Hall graduated from Brown University in 1934 and from Columbia School of Journalism in 1936. After working as a salesman for United Features Syndicate, he formed the Post Syndicate with the New York Post in 1944, soon renamed Post-Hall Syndicate. In 1955 he bought out the Post and renamed it Hall Syndicate.
In 1964, Hall bought his first radio station in Connecticut, and in 1967 he sold Hall Syndicate to Field Enterprises of Chicago. In the ensuing years he formed Hall Communications and purchased numerous radio stations throughout the eastern United States. He resigned as President in 1991 and Chair in 1998, turning the company over to his daughter Bonnie Hall Rowbotham and her husband Art.

Ichiro Yoshikuni

Ichiro Yoshikuni (September 2, 1916 - September 2, 2011) was a Japanese baseball executive. He served as the Commissioner of Baseball in Nippon Professional Baseball from 1989 to 1998. He is a member of the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.
