Martín Garatuza (telenovela)

Martín Garatuza is a Mexican telenovela produced by Fernando Moret for Televisa in 1986. It starred Manuel Landeta, and launched the acting careers of Mariana Levy (daughter of TV presenter Talina Fernandez, and then member of the pop group Fresas), Eduardo Capetillo (son of bullfighter Manuel Capetillo, half-brother of actors Guillermo and Manuel Capetillo, as well as then member of the pop group Timbiriche), Cecilia Tijerina and singers Rita Guerrero (who would later find fame as the lead singer of rock band Santa Sabina in the 1990s), and Cecilia Toussaint.
The plot is based on the life of Martín Garatuza, a Mexican trickster of the 17th century.
