Flag of Philadelphia

The flag of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, consists of three vertical stripes of equal width (blue, yellow, blue) with the city coat of arms across the center of the yellow stripe (although versions of the flag that omit the coat of arms are also frequently displayed). The seal and arms were adopted by the city in 1874. The blue and yellow colors commemorate the original Swedish colonization of Philadelphia. The dimensions of the flag are "10 feet long and 6 feet wide, or similar proportions". One flag manufacturer who supplies flags to the city government stated that the shade of blue used is "UN Blue" (the same shade used in the United Nations flag).
