David Archuleta (kickboxer)

David Archuleta (born May 5, 1982), often billed simply as DAVID, is an American former kickboxer who competed in the middleweight division. An airman of the United States Air Force stationed in Okinawa, he spent the majority of his career in Japan and came to prominence by winning the UKF World Junior Middleweight Championship in 2003 before debuting in the K-1 promotion later that year.
Career
Hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Archuleta joined the United States Air Force as an airman and was stationed with the 733rd Air Mobility Squadron at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, in October 1999. He was inspired to begin kickboxing after watching Andy Hug fight on television and soon joined Maki Gym in Naha, Okinawa. He turned professional in 2001 and won the ISKA Okinawa Middleweight (-75 kg/165.3 lb) title on June 6 the following year when he knocked out Yamamoto in the third round.
